Amber T’s new single ‘‘Get Me’’ is out now
Amber T is and young and fresh singer-songwriter from the UK. Her tunes perfectly merge rock music with pop melodies, and it was very interesting to know more about her background. She started playing live at the age of 8, and she’ll surely continue sharing her talent on the stage for a long time.
HELLO AMBER. YOU RECENTLY PUT OUT A NEW TUNE CALLED ‘GET ME’, TELL US MORE ABOUT THIS SONG.
I wrote the song during the lockdown in November. I wanted to try and write something slightly different from what I’d previously written and ‘Get Me’ came about from that!!
WHAT ARE THE ARTISTS AND GENRES THAT INFLUENCED YOUR MUSIC THE MOST?
I have had huge admiration for the 1975 and love their music and how each of their albums is different. I also really love the dirty hit artists such as beabadoobee and pale waves! Regarding influences, I’d definitely say the 1975 play a big role but also Paramore.
YOU STARTED PERFORMING FROM THE AGE OF 8. DO YOU REMEMBER HOW WAS YOUR FIRST-EVER PERFORMANCE AND WHAT DID YOU FEEL AT THAT MOMENT?
I’ve always loved performing and every memory I have is ones of enjoying the moment. I can remember at 8 feeling the same way and loving being able to sing to more people!
YOU LEARNED TO PLAY PIANO AND GUITAR ALL BY YOURSELF. WHICH ONE FELT EASIER FOR YOU TO LEARN AND WHAT’S THE INSTRUMENT THAT FASCINATES YOU THE MOST IN GENERAL?
I’d say that the piano was slightly easier for me to pick up however I have an equal love for both the instruments. I find it fascinating how different notes combined can create such intresting sound and love learning new things everyday.
HOW WAS WRITING YOUR FIRST SONG AT A YOUNG AGE, HOW DO YOU FEEL LOOKING BACK AT IT?
I feel proud of myself to be able to express myself in that way at such a young age. I find music such a great outlet for emotions and writing songs has always been a main way of doing that for me
HOW DO YOU FIND THE INDIE MUSIC SCENE IN THE UK AND HOW DO YOU THINK YOUR PROJECT FITS IN THIS.
I love the indie music scene in the uk and although I am not confined to just the indie genre I love to include elements of the music scene in my work. This includes like lots of guitar sounds and sort of the more heavier side rock music but still fitting it in a pop track
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE UK MUSIC FESTIVAL AND IN WHICH ONE WOULD YOU LIKE TO PLAY?
I was lucky enough to go to Reading Festival this year and it was amazing. I would love to 1 day be able to perform and one those stages as it was just so amazing to watch
WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR THE REST OF 2021?
